Welcome to Meifford

Thank you for visiting the site for the Meifford Light Railway. I hope you enjoy reading about how and why I built this narrow gauge layout and perhaps find it interesting.

This is my first model railway, although I have made many other types of models. Inspiration and help from friends, plus members of the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association and the on-line Narrow Gauge Forum (both excellent resources) has been invaluable.

The layout is into its fifth year, but still evolving and you can follow progress through the 'Diary' pages. These are ad hoc updates on progress, but could also be described as a 'what's on my workbench'!

Throughout the site I have tried to show some of the techniques I have used whilst developing Meifford. Some are well known, others may be a bit more unusual, but hopefully useful!

The Galleries contains many photos, showing the layout from start to the finished product. OK, the layout isn't finished (are they ever?), but the galleries are a record of how Meifford got to where it currently is.
